The Java Developer will define and improve the software architecture of CMS applications through industry standard design patterns across the technical stack. The primary focus of this position is to implement Enterprise Change Management projects by developing, implementing and maintaining Java-based applications, components and interface solutions. The Java Developer plays an important role in creating high-level design artifacts, delivering high quality code deliverables, leading the development of different applications modules and is part of a learning culture where teamwork and collaboration are encouraged.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Public Trust Clearance is required

  • Must be a U.S citizen or green card holder (green card holder should be in the country the last 3 out of 5 years)

  • Expertise and experience in SQL queries and the development of stored procedures.

  • Supports efforts towards implementing, enhancing, integrating, and maintaining applications, offering strategic recommendations and troubleshooting complex issues.

  • Produces documentation, contributing to standards and advising on best practices for process and data flow diagrams.

  • Conducts thorough unit and integration testing, ensuring comprehensive coverage of test cases.

  • Utilizes advanced programming, scripting, or database languages to write optimized, scalable code.

  • Conducts in-depth analysis of functional and technical requirements to create comprehensive specifications.

  • Performs advanced coding, debugging, testing, and configuration tasks to maintain and develop complex application programs.

  • Experience working in a federal environment with an understanding of the relationship between team products and complex federal systems.

  • Solid expertise in the continued development and maintenance of JAVA-based software and in using stored procedures to support content via an existing API.

  • Participates in regular standup meetings and meetings with the federal client.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Maintain and develop current and future design, development, coding, testing, and debugging of applications.

  • Provide technical leadership in the sustained effective delivery of high-quality software solutions.

  • Ensure deep understanding and application of security and systems design principles.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the required customer clearance for access to systems, facilities, equipment, and property.

  • Demonstrate proven expertise in the context of multi-layered, large systems with awareness of system impact.

  • Exhibit strong professionalism, communication, strategic planning, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

  • Proficient with SQL programming, writing stored procedures, data modeling knowledge, and optimization of SQL queries for performance — including using indexes, partitioning, joins, subqueries, and other techniques.

  • Perform code reviews and recommend solutions for the project.

  • Apply knowledge of SDLC processes and application lifecycle management tools.

  • Work closely with the team under the direction of the Program Manager.

  • Collaborate within a small team supporting a federal program, ensuring alignment with complex federal systems that support the provision of healthcare.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree in a related field of study and a minimum eight (8) years of experience, with a focus on healthcare IT, health data exchange, or interoperability.

The estimated pay range for this role is $100K to $130K, with the final offer contingent on location, skillset, and experience.
